One of the confectioneries trends observed by Mintel (a global market intelligence agency) is the growing appeal of more luxurious and premium creations. In Indonesia, for instance, 42% of consumers report consuming something sweet (such as desserts or snacks) every day. Positioned as affordable luxury, high-end snacks fulfill the need for unique and enjoyable consumption experiences both in retail and food service.

At the Dessert Omakase event on August 15, 2024, at RA Suites Simatupang, Indomilk FnB Solutions introduced the edge of their product, Indomilk Good Milk UHT and also the launched of their new product, Australian Butter Baking – a butter product specially designed to enhance value creation in bread creations in the bakery, pastry, and dessert sectors of the food service industry in create premium dessert innovations.

Inspirations for premium dessert creations that presented during the event was Tropical and Strawberry Beso de Angel, created by Pastry Chef Kim Pangestu.

Consumer demand for sweet foods paired with a cup of coffee (coffee pairing) is also blurring the lines, where cafes now need to offer bread, pastries, and desserts alongside coffee beverages. At the event, coffee expert Hendri Kurniawan presented coffee that harmonized with Pastry Chef Kim’s creations, in line with the increasing trend of enjoying dessert with coffee.

Guests were also invited to enjoy gourmet dishes from Corporate Executive Chef Arsil Rusli of RA Hospitality, balancing out the sweet dishes. At this hotel, with complete banquet facilities, his creations stand out. On the lobby floor, RA Suites Simatupang features the 25th Avenue coffee bar, welcoming the latest trends. The public was invited to sample various milk-based coffee creations served with desserts and fresh bread from the dessert table.
